Temptations can turn into a vicious circle

Temptations can turn into a vicious circle

“I generally avoid temptation, unless I can’t resist it”, this famous quote by American actress Mae West  urged me to think about the temptations that entice young men and women of today or to be more specific the single men and women of this era.

Temptation is not a negative word per se. For instance, a temptation to eat street food, walk in the rain or take an afternoon nap are simple desires that can be easily fulfilled. However some temptations can be menacing in terms of
creating fissures in a relationship. In the 2nd part of this series, let’s look at the temptations that ought to be avoided by single men and women who are in a relationship/dating. Needless to say, these are my personal observations and if there are any lacunae, please feel free to rectify

I me myself  If most of your conversation revolves around I, Me and myself, your partner may feel unwanted and bitter towards you which may culminate into an argument . The temptation to talk about your life, your work or your future plans can be irresistible but do so in moderation. Gift of the gab is a remarkable trait however it should be used to fortify a relationship instead of weakening it.

Infidelity- There are some unwritten rules that govern a relationship; the most prominent one being faithfulness. The temptation to stray in a relationship may loom large for both unmarried couples and married ones as it is easy to trespass the thin line which separates fidelity from unfaithfulness. If you are involved with another person while being in a relationship, it amounts to infidelity and disloyalty. Whether or not you confess to your partner about your disloyalty, it amounts to guilt and disrespect to your spouse.

The ‘digital’ desire – Facebook, whatsapp, instagram have become an integral part of our lives but that doesn’t mean that you post or discuss about your relationship status with the whole world. The temptation to talk about every aspect of your relationship on the digital platform may not only irk your friends and relatives but can soon change your relationship status from ‘dating’ to ‘single’.

The ‘Ex’ factor – An open relationship is all about being honest and straightforward that implies mentioning about your past relationships too. The temptation to talk about your ex ‘in excess’ indicates that you are incapable of letting bygones be bygones. Focus on your present relationship and appreciate the finer traits in your partner instead of comparing his/her mannerisms, style or behavior with your ex.

Taking things too fast- The right ingredients for a successful relationship are sincerity, commitment and conviction. A man and a woman should be willing to invest enough time and patience to make their relationship work. Single men and women who ‘believe’ they are in love seem to be in a great hurry nowadays to take their relationship to a next level. This temptation to take things too fast is unlikely to transform into a ‘happily ever after’ scenario.
Please remember that if relationships dangle on thin threads of temptations, it’s bound to disintegrate.

In my next blog, I will write my musings on temptations faced by married couples.

I Love You..

GS Ramesh

I am really happy to have exciting response for my Blog. Very encouraging for me. I am sure that my reflection and my experience will be useful for the people. Today I thought let me slightly digress from this journey.

Tell you about my love at first sight. The very first time I saw, I felt very happy and attracted and the smile was very positive. Always inspired. Always looked with admiration, because full of positivity, charming and the right attitude. You will be wondering who is this? Yes I am going to share with you, because all of you are also having in your life someone.  I don’t want to keep suspense. Let me tell you this is someone whom I meet every day in the morning, the first thing I do when I get up I want to meet and I made it a point to meet every day, because that was my love.

Well well well don’t get panicked. Every morning I get up and go to my wash room and you know whom I meet. Myself, My Reflection.

I have always been wondering that every part of my body has been performing and having unconditional love with me. No complaints, No tantrums. That’s why I love myself, because they are with me and that’s Myself, My Reflection.

Every morning you should get up and look at your reflection and smile your reflection for doing such an excellent job. If you cannot love yourself, how can you love others?  My Mantra of being positive is -- Love Thyself, Love Others, because Love is Divine.  Try this, you will always feel happy and be within yourself. Because life is full of expectation by everyone surrounding you, which causes frustration for nothing. So the formula of success is “Love thyself and Attachment with Detachment”.
